I'm not very excited about spending $200 on the Keel Shield that I need. Are there any other less expensive options?

I think I remember hearing about people using truck bed Liner coating? Any other ideas?

Where I live we beach the boat a lot.

Keel guard or keel shield

That is the only choice if you want to beach it

bed liner material will protect you from the small stuff but beaching i would only do with the shield or guard

Well one option is to grind the keel a bit, then use 3-4 layers of 1708 to build up the keel. You can tint the resin to kinda match the hull color and then when it gets worn down it won't look to bad. It'll protect the hull but will require some annual maintenance. Easy to do and easy to Re-Do. As stated Keel Guard IS the best solution.
I guess one other solution is to epoxy a 1/4" strip of Aluminum to the keel. Again, would require annual maintenance and inspection.

KeelShield. Glue the damn thing on and go boating. Why spend $$ on something that may or may not work and hold up?
