Outboard for an Outboard

Hello,

I have a 40HP Tracker attached to my 1994 Bass Tracker Boat. I've got an old Evinrude 100 that I would like to replace it with. The current tracker is 2 cycle engine with seperate gas / oil. The current engine turns easily with the steering wheel and I'm concerned on how to replace the steering and throttle system... any ideas?

This is a first time project for me.

Thanks!
Cody

Re: Outboard for an Outboard

What model '94 bass boat - they probably made 10 or more models? What's the rating plate say max HP is? Also a Tracker motor is just an OEM motor with Tracker labeling - Do you know the make like Mercury, etc.?

And welcome aboard to iboats.

Thanks. I believe it's a pro 17, I'll double check that as well as the rating plate when I get off work. It is a mercury engine.

Thanks.

Bob's post above is why I asked about the boat. That's going to be a lot more weight, not to mention 40 horses over max. Not a good idea.
