Outboard in a Slip

Hey all, <br /><br />I am used to flushing an outboard after each use when the boat comes out of the water. If I keep my boat in a slip, do you still flush the outboard or just keep it in the water?

There are a few things that you should take into consideration, like how long are you going to keep the boat in the slip, how long between uses etc. It never hurts to flush the outboard, and most of the new ones makes it quite eaisly. Just remember when it is in the slip to keep it out of the water when not in use.<br /><br />Belchy<br />-------

I flush mine after every use unless I'm using the next day.

salt water, i'd flush as often as you can. fresh water, not needed as much. most engines should have a port to connect hose to. but read the manual, some you just run water, but don't run the engine.<br /><br />would also recommend changing water pump each year.<br /><br />enjoy-

A bit of a pain, but if you have long arms and a set of rabbit ears you can flush it with the engine running in the slip. Attach the hose to the ears, put them over the impeller, lower the engine and run.
