Just because an impellor "Looks OK" does not make it so. The PO ran her dry at least 1 time, probably more. An impellor is cheap, a water pump kit is only about $35. I change the impellor every year. A pump kit and thermostat every other year. If she overheats you will be dropping the LU again.

For the time and money you have invested, not changing the impeller or pump kit is false economy. Like Crabby said "Looks OK" doesn't cut it. Anytime I drop my lower, the impeller gets changed, It's cheap insurance in my opinion.
