Tulsa Time got a new boat - 2006 Stingray 185 LS Volvo Penta. Can't get trim or tilt to respond when key is on. Haven't had it on the water - just trying to check the oil in the outdrive, but can't get outdrive to move.

The boat was a repo, missing the key. Had to replace the ignition switch, but one I got was a 3 prong, the boat has a 4 prong. The only connection that didn't match up was one labeled "A". It has power to everything we checked after hooking it up, don't know what we're missing.

What engine and drive. Need full model number of the engine. Year doesn't really help.
Did you check the fuse or circuit breaker for the trim?

Thanks Don S.,
Will try the fuses....However, we did hear some clicking coming from the bilge area like it was going to work.

Here's the Information:
Engine: Volvo 3.0 GLP-D Serial #4012175145
OutDrive: Volvo SX Serial # 4202157936

Will Post again later today,
Thanks,

Ok, here's the deal. After going to every marine place on the planet (our world). All the experts were sure it was a relay. As it turns out, it wasn't the relay(s) but, close. There is a reset button inside the relay/fuse box that needed pushing in. Got it to work, and enjoyed a great day on the water. We were a little concerned about it starting after putting in at the boat ramp, but bingo, it cranked right up with no fuss. A good story, we met some good poeple
on the water today and are going floating tomorrow with our new aquaintences.
A million thanks to Don S. - even though no help from him on this one, still an awesome and always admired cornerstone of this boating forum.
Cheers!
