 I have a 1990 60 hp johnson that over heats, I've changed water pump assy (impeller, cup, plates, gaskets) changed exhaust housing, pulled power head changed gasket, pulled head, pulled exhaust cover, still over heats. Water does come out of pee tube good.
Could there be a possibility of a bad casting letting exhaust get into cooling water ? Power head was completely rebuilt about two months ago, ran fine for about 10 hrs.

You have to put the thermostat back in. The restrictor is the seat for the thermostat not a restricter. Update temp sensor, waterpump, relocate waterflow indicater, carb jets, timing, per factory service service bulletin, and prop to 6000rpms.
