I have a SN: list for the old parts, what what would you consider to be the best method for determining the correct replacement part #s for the lees satisfactory parts?

This is the motor in the boat it has has had water in it for at least 3 or 4 years.

I got a similar one to disassemble because It was supposed to be in running condition the "running one" probably only had water in it a few months and only in the intake area from siting outside I guess.
BLOCK RUST EVALUATION
At disassembly I found rust in the intake manifold and #3&4 piston top only not exfoliating, read and dusty no other rust in oil areas. Their is some light flaking in the water path around the cylinders does this sound terminal?

I will start the other motor tonight and make resized photos thanks for reminding me.

Ayuh,...........

I guess I'd start with a Complete Tear-Down of both motors,+ See whether either of them are Rebuildable,........
Getting friendly with your local Machinest will help with this determination........

Btw,........
Edit your pictures down to 480 pixels or less so this thread is Readable........... You'll get more,+ Better responses..........
