Overheating 92 60 hp Evinrude

Quick question motor discharging water from side “strong” in N but getting hot drop it in F still discharging water stops. Could this very well be the thermostat? Thnx in advance

Could be a blown head gasket.---Does the hose for the tell tale come off the side of the block or the top ?-----Water from the tell tale does NOT circulate through the engine.-----Have you installed the latest water pump kit ?----Post the compression test numbers.----Answers to these questions will help you !----How did the motor run for you last season ?

Motor was totally redone 7 years ago haven’t really logged a lot of hours I’ll look at where to hose connects ina bit. Thnx for your feed back

Oh also it ran great every time I used it just dropped it in a few weeks ago ran it for an hour. Got to the dock and realized the problem tell tale was discharging great. But

So are you saying the pee stream out of the engine stops once it's put in Foward? Is that at idle in F or higher RPM or doesn't matter?

Yes when it’s in forward it stops N it is discharging water

It does come out of the bottom of engine

There was a service bulletin in 1994 to move the tell tale fitting to the top of block.----So 27 years ago.-----The latest factory water pump kit has bits / pieces to make cooling system modifications.
