ox66 hi pressure pump won't shut off?

I checked pressure...jumps right to 37 or so...vst tank is filling....but with key turned halfway, it just keeps running...float? anything else?

A complete model # will help others know what motor you are speaking about.
what do you mean by half way?

Pressure regulator maybe

sorry - its a 1999, 225hp, yamaha ox66 efi engine...

when you turn key halfway, the high pressure pump usually runs 5 seconds or so...then shuts off when the fuel level reaches a certain point in the vst...my hi pressure fuel pump keeps running....

but it is drawing fuel and the pressure at the valve is around 36-38psi...

That still is not a model #

Are you turning it only half way to run or all the way to the run position?
I believe the ECU turns on pump for a few seconds to pressure up but then turns off unless it sees that the motor is turning over. At least some motors monitor the motor to make sure it is turning or if the starter is engaged not sure about yours.
Pretty sure pressure and level has nothing to do with it turning off
