Hi,

I'm about 1/3 of the way sanding all my glass work with 40 g in prep for Durabak paint (marine bedliner stuff).

The polyurethane base coating sets up after ~ 1.5 hours. I don't want to be stressed getting two complete coats applied consecutively. There are areas that need be covered with a brush, even the small 4" roller won't get in the nooks... Is it a good idea to work in sections? First coat bow section, first coat helm deck and seat bases, and finally first coat stern section and deck. Then repeat process for second coat?

Thanks for all the help. I cant wait to see what it's gonna look like... Sure hope Durabak hides all the little stuff! I'm not the most talented at body work

Re: painting question

Are you using a angle grinder to sand down the floor??

Re: painting question

I basically just painted myself out of the boat (bow to stern)... I used an angle grinder with a 40 grit flapper disc, a belt sander with 40 grit, and foam sanding blocks with 40 grit... The first coat is on... Durabak is a great product... Very forgiving, and covers easily... Second coat goes on tonight, then a third Tuesday! You can see results on my 1999 Bayliner project thread linked below.
