About 8 weeks ago my truck got side swiped at lowes, and I did the insurance and estimate thing, and the paint shop didnt finish the job and I was left with 4 small dents, and over the last few weeks I have been trying to locate a company around here that dose the painless dent repairs, and today I finally was able to. I took it to them and in about a hour it looked like new and the price was reasonable, just thought I would throw this out there.

Many of these special dent removal places will not let you watch them because their method is a secret. I will let you in on it.They use strong electromagnets..

That may be, i meet them at a dealership, talked a bit then went off across the street and had breakfast and brought them a coffee back being as it was early. Its one of those things that I cant do and I was only interested in the end result.

I had it done and the guy let me watch. There were no electromagnets :)facepalm:)....they use a series of long handled rods and spoons and work from the back side of the door or fender. The did mine down thru the window channel. They set 2 long flourescent lights that shine into the paint and work until the reflected image is straight and crisp. It's a cool thing to watch to the untrained eye. Very talented.

Re: Paintless dent repair

I once took one of my suv's into the dealer for warranty work. The tech took home to test for the symptoms and took it out and joyrode it with his friends that night. I came to pick it up and was beyond angry when I discovered what the tech had done upon approaching the vehicle at the dealer. They of course didn't even mention it and left it up to me. There was a dent in the passenger door. To make it right, the PDR'd the dent, game me a zero dollar deductible warranty for another 4 years, installed a clear paint shield over the front of the vehicle and gave me lifetime PDR. They also PDR's a couple other door dings. There's a lot more ineptitude to the story as he also gouged the front bumper and took a chip out of the rear quarter panel. As for my only PDR experience, I could not tell where the dings were.

Re: Paintless dent repair

Trucks are supposed to have dings, it gives them character.
That's what I told myself the other day when my son opened the front door of one of our suv's full swing into the corner of my work bench which is usually not possible. It is like the worst door ding ever and it is right in a spot where I don't think PDR is even possible. One of my more luxury suv's has no door cladding at all so every time someone in a parking lot dings you just a little it's going to make a mark. The airport is the worst where you are lucky to get any spot so can't be choosy.
