Part number needed please

I am looking for the part number for the O ring for the top of the drive shaft just below the upper splines. 1976 40hp evinrude model number 40604R. I have looked on several sites including shopevinrude but i cant find it. And i dont have a parts manual. Thanks to anyone who may be able to help.

Part # is 319344. Go back to shopevinrude and look at the crankshaft break down. It's installed in the C/S.

Thanks I was looking at the gearcase section. That is where I found them for my other motors.

Putting it in inside the crankshaft wasn't one of their brightest ideas.

Is it likely to come out with the drive shaft or will I have to fish it out?

You may have to straighten out a coat hanger, put a bend in the end of it and fish it out.
