I have a Johnson 6 hp outboard, early 70's model. It runs, has rebuilt carb, new water pump, new fuel pump, new breakers and condensers. It won't shift into gear and I don't have the time to take it apart again. I would like to trade it for a 3 or 4 hp, any brand, in good running condition, or I will sell it for parts or part it out. Please email me at frizzell@gis.net.

Re: parting out Johnson 6 hp

Been looking for a carburetor for a couple of months for my 1974 Johnson 6hp. How much for the whole motor or how much for the carb...

Thanks Joseph

Re: parting out Johnson 6 hp

Hi,
I would like to get $30 plus $8 shipping for the carb. I completely rebuilt the
whole thing in March, including new needle valve and seat, new float, and
new gaskets. There are some gaskets left in the rebuild kit that I will include also.
I know it works because my motor starts and runs great. The engine is not the problem.
When I shifted it into gear something let go. For the whole motor I would like to get $150
plus actual shipping and crating cost. Does this sound fair? I can email pictures if you'd like.
I just don't have the time to work on it anymore. I just bought another house and it nees
a lot of work. Let me know.
Thanks, Lyle
