Get a torch that use MAPP gas. It looks just like a propane torch but is approved for use with much hotter MAPP gas. Not much money and even gets hot enough to do light brazing.

Butane pencils wont last long before refueling, just get a propane torch

I can pick up a Benzomatic MAPP kit for under $40 at Grainger. It is discontinued for some reason. That work ?

MAPP gas gets hot enough to melt aluminum so don't go hog-wild crazy with a MAPP torch. I melted a piece of aluminum practice brazing with those aluminum "welding" sticks. You can do it with a MAPP torch, just be careful not the melt the aluminum.

That will work. As Fishrdan said, be careful. Treat it like an acetylene torch not a propane torch. It does get hot.

I do use the cold stuff when trying to insert piston rod pins and it works great!
