Almost correct:

It's "Honey do you need anything from THE Walmark's.

You gotta get that "The" in there or it just doesn't sound right.

And don't forget to walk with a limp. Next time you're at The Walmark's, take a look around and notice how many limpers there are. Call that Walmart Walkers.

Here is link to coker test of mentioned oils... I myself use the Sierra TCW3(same as Mallory) and have no problems in my personal engines including my 250 Ficht. I use Mallory products in my customers 4 stoke engines for customers piece of mind and my supplier is never out of stock of the products....
Mallory Marine is so confident in our ability to increase performance and extend engine life thru its anti-wear additives that when a case of Mallory Marine FC-W 4-Stroke Lubricant and an appropriate Mallory Marine Oil Filter is purchased and used exclusively with a new 4-cycle outboard, sterndrive or inboard engine, Mallory Marine will warrant against a lubricant failure for Double the engine manufacturers warranty period on critical
internal engine parts to a maximum of six years."

The interesting thing about those oil warranties is that an actual oil related failure is so rare they almost never happen. Lack of oil failures are common, but just about any oil will protect an engine well enough for it to last a very long time.

Its a selling feature I know, but it keeps me in business as customers know I am trying to give the best product for the money....

Re: Pensoil AKA "yellowdeath"?

I've run only two, 2-stroke oils over the last 11 years or so. One is Pennzoil semi-synthetic and the other is BRP XD-50. I only ran the BRP oil for awhile, because I was having trouble finding the Pennzoil. Walmart stopped selling it in my area, but eventually Academy Sports started selling the 2.5 gallon jugs that I like.

Over the period involved, I used the Pennzoil product probably 80% + of the time. I used it in a pair of 6hp Johnsons ('65 & '69) that were run 8 - 10 hours a day at WOT, several times a week, for about 4 years. I also ran it in a pair of 1958 Bigtwins at 50:1 for several more years. Those motors have been sitting in my workshop since some time in 2006. I didn't fog them or do anything else to them, besides shooting some light oil in the sparkplug holes and pulling them over, every so often. About ten days ago, I fired both of them up in a barrel ran them for a bit and then compression tested them. Both started with a few turns of the flywheel. One motor showed about 120 psi per cylinder and the other, about 110 psi.

I still use one of the 6hp motors as a kicker and my main engine is a '72 Johnson 65hp. This is the setup that involved use of the BRP oil. I would guess that the oil use was about 60% Pennzoil and 40% BRP. Both motors have always run well and I have had no problem with coke buildup, etc.

I like Pennzoil and will stick with it. My oil situation "ain't" broke and I don't intend to "fix" it.

Boy, you are in trouble now. Admitting you run 50:1 in a 1958 is about as safe as walking into a motorcycle bar wearing a pink shirt.

Of course, I would do it too....the oil, that is.

It depends on WHICH 1958 outboard - the ones with all roller/needle bearings work fine on 50:1. The ones with brass bushings do not. :)

Re: Pensoil AKA "yellowdeath"?

Hate to bring back an old thread. Just heard someone say don't use pennzoil for the third time and decided to research it.

The reason I like it, is its not the cheapest and not real expensive, and bass pro has it on sale often. Seems like everyone like the middle of the road stuff.

I have been using it for about three years on a bass boat, and just had a piston crack. Do I think it was the oil??? If I really did would I have just bought another gallon???? I think it was either a head gasket, or a float sticking in the carb.

But I do think I would buy the expensive stuff if someone had some convincing evidence the yellow bottle was the culprit.

Re: Pensoil AKA "yellowdeath"?

there isn't one outboard designed to run at idle for 9 hours, but keep blaming the oil.

I ran my '79 Johnny 70 at idle for 9 to 12 hours a day about 120 times in the early '80s. Did change the plugs once during those years.

I doubt that you have any facts on which to base your claim.

Went fishing Saturday as a matter of fact but there was no attractive oil involved, or a boat for that matter, only my Simms gore tex waders and my new Patagonia wading boots. They're the cats.

Re: Pensoil AKA "yellowdeath"?

I have used 100%full synthetic pennzoil in all my motors for as long as it has been out and i love the stuff.I'ts pretty and smells good.Plus it leaves no carbon deposits, little to no smoke, and biodegradable.I am currently breaking in a 15hp 2stroke merc with it at 25:1 and i'm running double oil which is 16oz in a 3 gallon tank and it barely smokes if not at all.I used the reg supertech walmart oil which has been awesome to but i had some left over in the fuel filter and i reved it up a little and man it looked like a cloud came down from the sky it was so smokey. Then the full synthetic worked it's way in and almost no smoke with double oil when it was reved up so i can imagine at only 8oz of oil there would be no smoke,Pennzoil is the best i have ever used for the [money].

If i couldn't get that i would go with west marines synthetic 2stroke oil also.I think the semi synthetic oil in any brand is a waste as there is very little synthetic oil in it.If your going to use any synthetic why not go all the way.Just my opinion.
