penta prop problem

I have a penta sx cobra when i raise it it leaks down what could be the trouble and also does it have some sort of lock or rod to hold it up when trailering.I just bought the boat and i dont have a clue

The drive should stay where it is when you release the button, especially for trailering. There's probably a leaking valve in the hydraulic system.
