Philanthropy Expert Says Conservatives Are More Generous

A book written by a highly-regarded philanthropy expert and Syracuse University professor providing statistical evidence that conservatives donate more money to charities than liberals regardless of income has just been published.

Brooks writes: "For too long, liberals have been claiming they are the most virtuous members of American society. Although they usually give less to charity, they have nevertheless lambasted conservatives for their callousness in the face of social injustice."

"These are not the sort of conclusions I ever thought I would reach when I started looking at charitable giving in graduate school, 10 years ago," he writes in the introduction. "I have to admit I probably would have hated what I have to say in this book."

Still, he says it forcefully, pointing out that [colour=blue]liberals give less than conservatives in every way imaginable, including volunteer hours and donated blood.[/colour]

More facts KG, don't want to muck up the arguement by presenting them. It might bust up the Lefts self delusions.

Caring is like love. If you do not act on it, it doesn't count for anything. But that is their secret. They care for all they are worth, then try to make everyone else pay for it.

As a prime example, Al Gore cares until he is about to bust his arteries, but back during his run for president, his financial disclosure showed that he gave zilch to either charitable or religious interests.

One book from one person a reality does not make. There are selfish and generous people in both parties, and the intelligent people here know this. You cannot trust anything that is based on statistics, because statistics can be scewed into whatever a person wants it to.

Why should i give my hard earned money to some religious or charitible entity?...Most of them if not all are a bunch of thieving SOB's.
My only charitible contribution i generously support is to St Judes Childrens.

C'mon now, you're an intelligent person, you know better. The same can be said that there are those who jump on any old crap that has been written that supports their philosophy as well, not unlike those who wasted no time in this thread getting a good lib bash in. They sit slobbering in anticipation of any little chance to bash a lib. I give about as much creadance to this one person who wrote this one book as I do to the Gore Environment Machine.

People give out of true generosity. They also give out of guilt, and shock of shock, they give for the tax write-offs. Any guess who cares more about tax write-offs? People who have money. I don't make crap, the only time I can be generous is for local entities like the schools and such. You'll never see me giving my loot to a religious entity. That is what they have their plate they pass every sunday for, they don't need my cash.

QC, I have never thought or stated that the Big Two would give at the same rate. Thats just not possible. That is why I don't give this book/author credance.

Yeah Boom, I know that, but there are other ways to donate to religious organizations, but the plate is the most popular for sure
