I have 2 merc 60s 1995 models on an 18 1/2 foot fibreglass sharkcat the cav plates are level with the bottom of the hulls.I have just repropped with 13 inch pitch Hustlers :)5600rpm WOT 62km/hr on the GPS.I can now trim out alot further than with the merc props. Will I get a perfomance increase by lifting the motors?Or is it a suck it & see question? Look forward to your replies & no jokes about sucking it Castaway...LOL

sharkcat,

yes lifting the motors will give you more speed because the less the motor in the water, the less drag you have in the water but you may not have as good as hold in the water make sure they arent too high you dont want to draw air to the cavitation plate this will cause bubbles and slow you down hope this helps
