As long as the spark plug wires are of the appropriate length, it doesn't matter. No sense in spending hundreds on "high performance" spark plug wires for an engine that doesn't need it. I also agree with leaving the gap at .035 for the spark plugs. It's a good setting for overall performance. Remember, this is a 470 engine platform, not a supercharged screamer. No point in spending money/messing with tried-n-true settings to eek out another 3-4HP. You won't notice a 10HP increase in your boat, much less a few ponies at redline rpm.
