Picking up short block on Sat... anyone close have an alignment tool?

My wife has been rather upset w/ me about the boat lately because I've been obsessed with fixing it and actually using it before the season is gone...

Anyway, I am picking up a shortblock on Saturday. Does anyone here live close to Knoxville, TN and have an alignment tool I could borrow? Or can anyone let me borrow theirs and I'll ship it back. I understand its a useful tool with boats and ultimately I will buy one, but I'm stretching my boat budget so thin trying to get it running that I simply can't afford the extra $40-$90 for one right now.

Anyway, if anyone can help, I'd _REALLY_ appreciate it!

Tell her it is normal for us boaters to feel that way, the season is only so long, and we do get stressed, & frustrated, if we can't enjoy it some, before it's gone.

Sorry I can't help you with the alignment tool, maybe you can rent one from a local marina?

can buy one for less than $50... or have a buddy with a lathe turn one for you out of bar stock... by the time you ship it back and forth, you might as well have one... Just a thought.

Its not anything other than cost at this point. My wife is already going to kill me for spending a total of $800+ on parts just this summer to get it running again.

local Marina here will let you rent one for 20 bucks plus deposit.
