Re: Pictures of broken Lower Units.
Hey Joe,
Pictures would be Great, But send them to one of the Guys who Know how to post them....
'Cause I Sure Don't....
Seeing's that I've been doing such a Great Job, I'll continue to be Your Insurance Guy....
Insurance Guy's scenario;
1) You Had a water Leak Before you went out..
2) You went out Anyway,+ Hot Rodded the boat..("30 minutes at WOT")
3) As the outdrive is Trying to hold itself together, with Not Enough Oil + Too Much Water, BANG !!!!!
This is when Most of your Problems occured.... Siezed Bearings, Shifter cable buckled,+ No Doubt, Some sort of Crack in the Cases...

Your Mechanic's Theory doesn't hold water, because the Bearing Siezed First....
After the Bang, the Shaft was no longer Turning....

The Cable,+ Clip are Results , Not the Cause ....

I Wish you the Best of Luck,
But, I Still think that your Ying got Yanged,+ You're going to be the one holding the bag....
Rodbolt, I think Might have your Only Way Out....
