if it is a fix tank yes you should remove it and repair or replace if it is a gas can just take it out empty it then fill with water all the way make your holes as you clean off with wire brush then wled it up or use sliver sloder

No choice, need to rip her out. If you can see one or two holes then you can bet that there will be more.

Might be prudent to disconnect your batt - now!

I doubt it's glass, wouldn't handle fuel too well

Aldo

Usually tanks are set in between stringers. It would be unusual that there is not a panel over the tank that can be removed. It may be under the floor covering, what ever material that may be.

Like Dunaruna said, if there is one hole there may be many more about to occur. You will probably find the tank bay full of water.

I agree there may be more then on ehole and you will not know until it comes out and out can see it also what boomyal said about a panel is normally correct unless it is a smaller boat or one some has redone the floor in at some time.
yes you can cut just around the foam tank but remebre to give yoruself enou room to work. becarefull not to cut any fuel or elec line or your stringers (depending on what you are cutting with)

yes it is posiable to be a fiberglass tank i have seen many of these as matter a fact my airboat has a 40 gal fiberglass tank in it right now but it could also be poly (plastic). fiberglass is repairable the poly is trash if leaking

disconnect battery is a given at this point if you have leaking gas I would hope you have already done this

If you know how thick your floor is,know were your stringer is,split the diffrence over the stringers.Mark it,take a drill, put some tape to dep, drill holes at each cornner to get a true marking, remark. From there, use a circle saw,set the blade at the right dep, back out a hair or two,cut up your floor over the stringers deid center.
NOTE*Pump out as much fuel as you can before you start.Move the boat were you don't mine a gas spill.Over fill the tank with water a bunch of times. After doing so,add a bottle of Dawn dish soap, wash all gas that over flows out the tank and wash down around the boat. The left over gas will come out of the vent and fill line when flushing.Dawn dish soap will break the gas down some what.

In addition to disconnecting the battery (avoid sparks) you also want to make sure you are getting some really good ventilation. Some people have passed out and died in similar circumstances.
