Re: pistons

Are you looking in the Pro Marine catalog?

Are you working on a 3 cylinder 70hp E/J?

Lots of guessing (on my part) going on here.....

Re: pistons

this is 1974 70 hp. 3 cylinder . looking at several parts sites on line . the 74 and 75 has different wrist pins than the 76 and newer . the wristpin berrings kit as i understand it adapts the 5/8 to 3/4 so the 76 will work on the 74 rod . OUTBOARDPARTS.COM .this is the site i found the parts on

papasage

Don´t know, but do read it the same way .

According to the Wiseco katalog ( Pdf katalog ) , you can use 3115PS ( 3.00" looper ( page 3 )) on all engines from 1974 > 1985 ,but with the bearing kit #B1029 on the 1974-75 .

kit #B1029 = wp15-1 ? ( only different brand ? )

Re: pistons

The B1029 and the WP15-1 are the same thing. The B1029 is from Wiseco and the WP15-1 is from Pro Marine.

The kits allow you to use the 1976 3.000" piston on a 1974-75 rod. You can put the 1976 rods in your 1974-75 motor and do the same thing.

Re: pistons

Ok, if you have to get rods anyway, I'd opt for the 76 and newer. Then you dont have to mess with conversion bearings.

BTW -- rods from a 56 cid 3 cylinder are different. You have to get rods from a 49 cid 3 cylinder. The casting number is on your rusted ones.
