Hello, I am new here and I need some advice.I've read a few forums and this seems like the best place for me to get some help.I have a 1996 Celebrity 21ft FireStar Cuddy. 350 Magnum FI Bravo1. I have a 23P Mirage on it now. I like the prop when less then 5 people onboard. If I have my 2 buddies both pushing 300lbs. their wives about close to 200 each..(they will never see this thread)..I hope anyway.., My girl 135 and me 200 the boat won't plane off until I get the big boys up by the wheel. If I bought a Bravo1 22p what do you think would be my gains and losses? the Mirage is a 14 5/8 X23 3B. The Bravo1 is a 15 1/8 X 22P 4B both stainless. I would like to be able to plane off without having people move around and still maintaining a decent top end. I don't pull skiers very often. I only pulled one guy and got him up barefoot with 3 people in the boat. That was with the Mirage. I bought a 19P Rapture but it is to small..I have to watch the rpms closely and it slips to much out of the hole. With only my girlfriend and I aboard the Mirage tops out in the mid to upper 60's. RPM's are right about 4900. Do you think I could swing the Bravo1 being that it is larger? I was also looking at the Solas HR Titan. The problem I have is that it is a 14in Diameter. I'm concerned about slip. Also, I read on Mercurys site that when replacing a Mirage with a Bravo1 that you should drop 1in. in pitch. I figured because the Bravo is a larger Dia. prop. With the Solas being a smaller Dia. would one stay with a 23P in the Solas? Also would I have to worry about slip with the Solas being a smaller Dia.?

Well, I won a prop on ebay. The Bravo1 15 1/8 X 22. I'll give it a try when I get it and see what happens.

Well, I saw several answers to questions that other people had after I asked for help. I know that I am new. I will fill you in on what happens with the $375 dollar decision .

Not all of us can be here at the same time, nor all the time...
As a general rule, a 4-bld prop will run the same RPM as a 3-bld of 1" more pitch. 23P 3-bld the same as a 22P 4-bld.
Hole-shot may be a "Tad" better.
If slip or "venting" is a problem, we need to go to a higher tech prop.
A Turbo Offshore 1 in a 14-1/2X21 may be just about right for your needs...
Email me at ktsander@st-tel.net and I'll give you the link....we're not allowed to post them on the forum.

I agree with Kenny.

The Bravo 1 does have a good reputation - I have also hear of good results in cases like yours with the Rev 4.

Let us know how you make out!

As soon as I get them I'll put up the numbers. It would be nice if there was a list of prop, boat, engine combinations that work well together.
