I just bought this motor a couple a days ago but I can't find out what year it is, I don't have the serial number to help in my search, hopefully someone can identify it by this pictures. BTW I am told that this motor was in storage for the last couple of decades and the man that now owns the boat re-powered it with a bigger and newer one. If this is true I'm getting a sweet deal with a low hours motor!!!

Any SUGGESTIONS and/or RECOMMENDATIONS are MOST Welcome... This is my first boat EVER and I'm just starting to get my tootsies wet, I've been finding all kinds of feedback on these motors like how good the weight to power is but also how much gas they consume per hour, but mostly good input. I bought the boat (Larson '84) last year with a Johnson ('84, 115?) motor on it. I plan to set up the motor so fuel is premixed in the fuel tank as I did with the Johnson.

Your input is most appreciated...!!!

!980 Tower of power..test compression 1st before mounting. If compression check out (110-120psi or higher) the test for spark as the stators can go bad from just setting. If ok replace water pump, fuel lines, clean carbs, gear oil and make sure you get controlbox as Johnson one wont work...

81 / 82 / 83 model.---There might be a reason it sat all these years.---As stated , check compression.---Clean carburetors and install new impeller.
