My son, Dave Jr. and I have found an old Outboard Jet motor we want to restore. The motor was a freebie so were not into any $$$ yet. The motor looks as though it may start right off. It has sat in a shed for Lord only knows how long. We have two of the motors both identical so we do have one for parts. We wish to get this motor registered and use it if we can get it going. We need some info to help with this phase. We are trying to figure out #1 if a company exists that may still offer parts. #2 What year the motor is. #3 What the fuel mix is. Any history or info will be much appreciated.
The motor is an OUTBOARD JET brand. It is a 9.5 hp. It says OUTBOARD JET INC. Indianapolis, IND on the front plate.
The specifics: On the top of the motor mount (the bracket that mounts the motor to the boat) It has the # 10624A I am supposing this is the serial or model #. On the top of the fly wheel it says: WICO Electric Co. Division of Globe Union INC. Springfield MASS.
On the tiller handle (the rubber grip) it says: Hunt Wilde Corporation.
Other than this I can't find any more info. I am posting some pics of it here to help with identification. Due to photo size limit, I have scaled them down if you think it may help e-mail me and I will e-mail full size pics. EDIT I thank all of you and God Bless all. Dave
