Yes. I couldnt seem to find it in an obvious spot Could it be concealed by part of the fly wheel? Can you take the flywheel off or do you need special tools?

Re and Re ...or R&R...Remove and Replace

It's Not under the flywheel...you need a harmonic balancer type puller to remove the flywheel....use no other kind of puller. At this point, you don't have a need to remove the flywheel.

Have a peek on the TOP of the powerhead, between the flywheel and the rear of the motor. You might have to look under or near a wire harness clip.....

Perhaps this will help....

Yeah strangly mine is not in that location. Is there another place it could be?
Did the 77 model come with it? Theres got to be numbers on that engine that will identify it. Would a manual tell you specifically where to find the numbers to its identity? Would you like more pics, numbers, or could you guys say it is a 77 Johnson Seahorse 15 2 stroke without a shadow of a doubt and just go buy the manual so i can start tearing it down?

OK, here's your pic. The arrow is pointing to what appears to be the location of the ID disc. Is this area painted over, filled in, or disc missing??

My first thought is, since you're missing the transom plate AND the welsh plug, you may have a stolen motor.....

I'm out of ideas...
