I have a yamaha 130. I was out on the water and my engine would stall n had a hard time starting it back up. I brought it to a mechanic and he said that the fuel was dirty n water was getting thru my gas cap. He showed me the fuel filter and it had a little bit of a dark reddish brownish color fluid on top of the can and according to him was full of water. He cleaned the tank out with a power washer and soap. Then filled it up with soap and water over night . The problem im having is he told me it took 2 hours to do that. I was shocked by that because my tank is huge and can't be removed. There's only one access hole so i think he could only do so much with the power washer. When I complained about this to him he got mad and said he will not continue. I'm 23 years old and don't k ow much about boats.does it sound like hes ripping me off? Now my boat is sitting up at his yard and hes gunna take out the soapy water outta the tank and said I'm on my own. He said it prob wont start! If someone is out there that can give me some advice i would really appricate it. At this point i will supposedly have a clean tank( which i feel its still going to be dirty). I need to get the boat back to my dock which is a 5 min ride on the water. What should I do? Can I hook up my emergency 6 gallon tank up to my engine? Or I was also thinking to buy a new filter and hook it up just so i can just make it to the dock. His plan was to start at cleaning the tank and then working up to the engine which was going to be 600$. Also I noticed my primer bulb wouldn't stay firm. Any advice would be great thanks
