PLEASE help: Year of Merc?

I know there is a post with links to websites where I should be able to look this up, but I swear, I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find out what year my Mercury 25hp is.

Serial number is: OC128047

Can anyone help?

That'd be a 1989 motor.

Find horsepower, scroll down to see s/n starting point for each year. You'll see yours fits just before 1990. Its a 1989 motor.

I strongly suggest the Mercury factory manual. You can find the part number on that linked document above as well.

Merc p/n 90-45309--3 for your motor.

They cost a bit more than the other manuals, but they're worth it. Often you can find them on eBay for a good price. Not electronic copies, but geniune manuals that others no longer need or brand new old stock.
