Yesterday while crusing at 3500 rpm on plane, the motor bogged down and started shuddering like it was running out of fuel. Once I came to an idle it shook and quit. Now whenever I attempt to start it the carb sounds like it is sucking alot of air and the motor just shudders untils it stalls, no matter how I try to keep it running. It is a 91 mercruser 3.0.
I checked the fuel filters and changed the water seperater. I turned the engine over with the fuel line disconnected at the carb and there was pulsating fuel flow. I then went for the electrical, pulled a spark plug, left it connected to the dist. When I cranked the engine, no spark. I also cranked the engine with the coil wire grounded to the block, no spark. I changed the ignition coil, no spark still. With the ignition on, both terminals on the coil are hot, with the ignition off only the positive side is hot.
Please help.
