Please, please, i need your help!!!!

I am trying to clean the carb i took the air intake valve off of a 1987 85 hp force (856X7B) and when i unscrewed the bowl to let the gas drain and to see the color of it, i noticed the spring from the float had come off. How do i put it back on without having to take everything apart. Do I really need the spring, what would happen with out.

are you referring to the tiny spring that goes under the retaining pin for the float or the larger spring that sit under the main jet....

The tiny spring that goes in the float.

You need to remove the carb to replace it.And yes you need it.J
