What is the best replacement plug wire for 35HP (1959) model? Will I have to make a set? Can I use automobile sets or is there marine grade wire? Who sells the wire, boots, etc. in case I need to make a new set? Thanks.

No, you must not use automotive 'supressor' wires. You must use a 7mm plug wire (so it will fit the ignition coil) that has a copper metal core. You will also have to 'make' the set but that just means putting a couple spark plug ends on.
A marine dealer should have wire by the foot and boots. Also a lawn mower repair outfit should have it. Some automotive supply places will have it too.
The slight (~1k ohm) resistance of the supressor wire is too much for the old magneto ignition system. Using it can cause mid-throttle misfires and hard starting. Plus it degrades in time, unlike solid metal core wire.
