In the process of replacing the coils on my outboard, I noticed the plug wires should probably be replaced also. Looking through iboats most of the plug wires have a metal male fitting, whereas my old wires don't have it (and the coils just have a metal point to accept the wire). If I get some of the universal plug wires do I just snip the wires to length or should I be looking for specific wires for my motor (1960 Johnson 5.5hp CD-17)?

Thanks.

laingsoutboards.com has the correct wires for you application, $3.95 each, they come with the spark plug end and you cut to length. besure to get the pin on the coil center into the wire. that pin is kinda threaded.
