I just replace a bad timer base, plug wires and plugs and tested boat last night in the dark with the cowl off. I had spark jumping to the engine from the new wires. So i pulled the wires away from the block and the motor still dont have full power. When i touch a screw driver to the engine i see a little spark jumping to it. I have cleaned all grounds and checked all connections. Is there something that could cause too much voltage that would cause spark to jump through the plug wires?
