Plug Wireset for Mercruiser 3.7 (470)

Possibly dumb question, but I have spent way tooo much on my engines and i am trying to find any way I can to save a few bucks...

Is there any 8 cylinder plug wire set that will fit into the mercruiser 3.7 4 cylinder engine? I ask this because I have twin engines and I always need to buy 2 sets...

Or does anyone know an Autozone brand like a Duralast plug wire set that will fit this engine?

something from the 70`s would fit the dist and plugs. the 470 dist cap needs wires that go in ,not on the cap.

I tried that a few days ago and got wires for a 79 Chevy Nova, although they fit and worked, they weren't long enough to wrap around nicely so I had to return them. The workers at my local Autozone are not very knowledgeable when it comes to anything when it comes to auto parts. They needs a specific make and model or a part number so they can look it up in their computer. They cant help any other way.

Do not try to cheap out on the plug wire sets. Go with the OEM, they fit perfectly with the correct ends. The cost will be about $10 per year over the life of the wires, that's about 2 gal of gas. Napa has 470 plug wires for about $20 belden brand. I think they work fine. They fit perfect. My local napa had them in stock. They were specific for the 470. Its my first year on them so I can't speek for longevity. A 8 cylinder set will leave you short a coil to center wire with twins
