i did a search on here and i read that poly resin will eat up the blueboard foam that you can get at home centers. but i think that was when they pured it on the board. will the poly eat up the board if it has cured. because im using poly to do all the fiber glassing. trying to do this as cheap as i can (replacing the floor and i want to use the blueboard for floatation)

Start over, if you need flotation, wrong material.
Exactly what is your final result, that you wont?

well i thought the blue board would be good flotation but if it wont work what would be a good product to use.

what size is your boat? Over 20', no flotation required.
And I have read, and agree, that the best place for flotation is in the gunnels.
No worry about water, and more stable if swamped.

it is a 14ft tri hull i stripped the floor and foam out (water logged).i was thinking the blue board would be good for flotation and rigidness. the fiberglass hull isnt strong it flexes when you push on it. so you are saying i shouldnt put any flotation under the floor. so then i should make the hull thicker by adding more glass.

The proper foam to use is the two part pour foam. It will also stiffen your hull.

Have a great day,

Rob.
