Re: Pontoon Flooring

Well I would really think that putting the bed liner stuff an nothing else will be a very hot floor in the summer, Thats why I goin to get the lite boat carpet an put down, I sure don't want to have to wear my boots on my toon in the summer time,,lol, An when ya get a lil water on it then ya better have something to hang on to,,lol, Very slick, lol, But I won't get the carpet that has the rubber bottom to it cause it will midew to much,, An a auto parts store should have the bed liner stuff in gallon cans,, An ya can always put some sand in bed liner stuff an mix it good so the floor won't be so slick if thats all ya going to put down but it will sure be some hot feet with no carpet,,:D

An also, I am thinking about running my cables an wire in a 1 1/2 or 2 inch pvc pipe down in the cornor from the console to the back of the toon cause that would keep from cutting any holes in the floor, ( which will be where the bottom of the rails an floor meets) then put a elbow outside the wall an have it turn so it will help keep water out of the pipe, An if ya pluging of the wireing is to big to go thru the pipe then it won't hurt nothing at all to cut a 1/2 to 3/4 slot out of the pipe then just put the wires an all in an screw the pipe down, Just a lot of ways to do it an just have to pick one an work with it,,

you think if i went with a really light grey, or even white the bedliner floor stff would still get that hot? that was the color we were gonna use, have you ever heard of a midget ventilator? that is what i was gonna use to run the cables through the deck, like you they ll run through the space between the pontoon and the deck.

as far as the ventilator goes i think it would go with the style of my old cruiser

here is a link to a midget ventilator:http://www.wholesalemarine.com/p/S-D-331370-1/Stainless+Steel+Midget+Ventilator.html

I would feel that it would get pretty hot that way no matter what color it is, Unless ya going to have a roof over it so it would be in a shade, But ya can always try it then do carpet later, Anything out in the sun will get hot but not carpet,

I replaced the deck on a 28' party barge 2 years ago, and used Timbertech composite decking. No visible screws, resists uv rays, and has small drain holes every 12 inches. No carpet or paint required. This floor will never be replaced again.
