I have a new pontonn with the full fence, (http://www.loweboats.com/platinum-pontoon-boats/platinum-23-rfl/) and am looking for ideas on mounting a grill. None of the common mounts will work on my fence, since I dont have an exposed top rail. This type of fence is pretty common now, so what are people using? I would prefer not to make any holes, or add a mount to the floor if possible. I have no problem making something, or paying someone to fab something, I am just looking for ideas. Thanks for the suggestions !!!

I mount mine on my door. It only takes a couple minutes to set up and take down.

If you check out the link with the picture of my boat, I cant use a mount like that without drilling or cutting holes in the fence (even on the gates). Those types of mounts are all I can seem to find...thus my problem

Oh, yeah. I looked at it too fast. If you don't want to drill any holes in the fence, I have an idea, let me see if I can explain it...

There are 4 holes in each part of the clamp. You will be able to use the two top holes just fine with the full-length screws. That may be enough to support the grill.. I can try with mine. If not, you could thread a total of 4 short screws into the bottom two holes of the clamp (they should be tapped), two coming from the front, and two coming from the back side, and then glue a little bit of felt to the ends of the bolt. Then, you can thread them in and the felt will press against the fence and clamp to it. That may inspire you for some other ideas too, maybe something less complicated, that's just what came to mind though.

I was able to mount my Magnum to the ski rail on the rear of the boat so the drippings go into the water, feed the fish lol

I see your dilemma. You might be able to use the existing table socket (not the pole, but the base it goes into) for a pedestal mount grill. If that doesn't work you could always replace the socket with one that mates specifically with a grill (some come that way, or at least used to) and sacrifice one of the table spots or just stick the table pedestal in the grill socket when you're not grilling provided it fits. You'd need to be really careful to avoid dripping grease on the floor, but if you have the faux teak I wouldn't think that would be as much of a concern.

I'm cheap.... sometimes I discust myself. Aluminum cookie sheet with 2 1//2 "C" channel pop rivited to the bottom. Brass hinge with a support arm. Sits on the top rail of the side door hanging over the edge, support arm holds the back up. Going to add a second arm.... one of these days. Boat is at our Arizona house, will be going back in a couple of weeks (AT&T work stoppage keeping us home) and I'll take some pictures. All the parts were less than 10 bucks, had the pop rivit gun. Gravity holds the unit in place. So far so good.

Oh, I forgot to mention, no matter how good anything you ever grilled on land tasted, IT TASTES SOOoooooo much better grilled on the water! May be the gentle rocking, or the jarring boat wake.... who knows. Also chilled watermelon is so much juicer and sweeter. Need I say more.
