My engine ( ns90a ) cavitation plate sets about 6" below the transom .

The transom seems to be the same depth in the water just setting and moving.

Im running 4000 rpm wot.

will raising the motor 6" higher on the transom give me the extra rpm I need at wot?

Bobby, I doubt you'll need to raise the full 6". You'll need to try it in stages 2" at a time and maybe a little less. Yes, 4000 wot is definetly lugging the motor. If you are referring to a Nissan 90 hp, what is the max. rpm for the engine?

As Rooster sadi I would go a few inches at a time but I don't know that that will get it, pontoons aren't like conventional monohull boats because the water between the tubes is so turbulent, the engine needs to run alittle low to make up for that or it will cavitate.

Bring it up until it starts to cavitate then drop it a hole and see where your rpms are then andyou will have to work the rest out with a prop change.
