I ordered a new pontoon from my local dealer last month, which last weekend I changed to a tritoon after riding on one recently. The tritoon seemed to turn a little sharper, ride a little softer, get up a go a little quicker, and has a much higher load rating. I know I will need a dedicated trailer for it. From my measurements, it will just clear my 8ft. garage door if I pull the tires and wheels off the trailer and roll it in the garage on a set of spare rims. I will be using a vertical hoist left over from a speedboat I am trading in, as it won't fit on the bunk style hoist from my old pontoon boat. What has me worried is, it didn't cost very much to add the third tube, and I don't see many tritoons around here (two to be exact). Have I overlooked any negatives about tritoons? My dealer will be sending my order in with his spring boat show orders in February, so I have a little time to make changes if necessary. Anybody have experience or comments about tritoons?
