Porthole trim ring installation

I will be installing some new portholes, 5 in all, and I'm wondering what the proper procedure is for installing the outer trim ring, am I supposed to glue it on and with what kind of adhesive?

A few more details might help. What boat? Locations?

I'm a tinny and the choice of goop is 3M 5200 for sealing things up on those. Pretty sure it does great on FG boats too.

Also have seen a few use Sikabond or Sikaflex products, Don't know which product # / style they used.

Sorry, the boat is a 90 sea ray sundancer 250. I'll be putting 2 portholes on each side of the cabin portion, then I'm installing 1 porthole in the mid cabin area directly under the helm seat.
