Try a comp test first? Then, all plugs burning right?
Try adjusting the air screws.
Tom,You have the factory manual?
The carb adjustment is different on the 89/90 150 compared to a 125/85.
If not PM me and I'll e-mail the directions to you.Too much to type tonite.
Whats the idle adjustment screw have to do with a miss?

In the bucket, the tick and coinciding puff of smoke indicates something. On the water not so obvious. You do know to keep your plugs clean?

Re: Possible miss

Oil recirculation system may have clogged screens. Remove the hose to the intake manifold and see if it is pumping oil and fuel back. If not, then remove the side plate and clean all three screens and reeds.

Oil recirculation system is there to improve idle and really has no function at speed. THUS: you may get a nasty miss at idle with perfect running at higher RPM in the water.

It works like this: Oil and fuel "puddle" at idle and collect in the crankcase. When it builds to a certain amount it will blow into the cylinder, causing a misfire. The recirculation system takes this puddle and recirculates it to be burned BEFORE it becomes troublesome.
