Possibly water in gas tank due to stupidity

The fuel pick up in the tank it typically an inch off the bottom of the tank so it will not pick up the usual crud and small amount of water that is in the tank.
If you have less than an extra pint (16oz) of water intrusion it should not be an issue.
Run the tank down to below a quarter and then refill it with E-10 gas. That will solve the water issue.
Each 10 gallons of E-10 will absorb over 6 ounces of water into solution.

Once a boat owner grabbed the wrong hose at the fuel dock. He pumped abut 5 gallons of diesel into his gastank. #_1,,, the boaters are not allowed to pump their own fuel. #2- he wanted tge fuel pumped out,and tank flushed. #3- I pumped it into a barrell,then into my car the next day. It was 5 gallons of diesel,in 20 gallons of gas. My car did not like it much,but it did squeeze itself through the injectors. My converter is more than likely to have an early death now...lol

Before you do anything dramatic, you can get a very bright LED flashlight, then remove the access cover to the fuel level sender unit. Then remove the bolts/screws holding that in and carefully lift it out. Make sure the screws/bolts DO NOT fall in the tank. Now take your bright flashlight and shine it down the opening, if there is water in the gas you are likely to see blobs of water on the bottom of the tank, if you see nothing, then don't worry.Replace the gasket while you are there and re-install the sending unit. You can change your fuel filter mid way through the season if you want to check it. Get a mason jar, pour what's in the filter in the jar and let it sit. No layer of water on the bottom no worries.

BTW during Superstorm Sandy, I siphoned gas our of my FW this way and kept my back up generator running for about 120 hrs with the gas that was in the boat! I had just filled it about 1 month before the storm. In the 2 weeks after the storm it was very hard to get gas around here. Lines everywhere because of no planning by overpaid big shots who know nothing.

Been there done that, Put the boat on a 30 degree angle (bow down) let it sit for a day opened the fuel tank again took a garden hose and siphoned 5 gals of pure water out.(The water will settle on the bottom of the tank) Let another gallon out and closed her up. Added two bottles of heat.... filled up the tank.... dismounted the fuel line...turned on the ignition let the fuel pump push out another 1/2 gallon.... mounted a new water filter and have never looked back.

Gas and water separate very well as stated above.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I don't have a fuel water separator on my boat so that will definitely be put on before the spring. And I will probably run some gas with ethanol just to try to clear up any moisture.

Throw a bottle of metho in... Same as ethanol fuel, but a lot cheaper.

Will do. I trailer my boat and get my gas at a local Shell station. According to their site, their supreme gas (or whatever they call it) is ethanol free. That's the only company that I could find that makes that claim.
