This is something that has been making me wonder for sometime now.<br /><br />Should a post be counted without any text response?<br /><br />When those that just post smilies just confirms that they read the post. Of course I know the smiliy can signify if they liked it or not.<br /><br />I have always made it a point to say something in text. As long as I have been a member and the number of topics I have read, I could have been an Admiral long time ago by just posting a smiliey to them.<br /><br />When I do make Admiral, just let it be known it was done without a smilie confirming I read the topic.........SS

SS, You may be right. Sometimes I post a smiley on a joke thats been sitting idle w/ 0 post replies, cause I like the guy and don't want him to feel bad. Anybody that wants can take my few smiley posts away from me. Thats OK w/ me. I'm not here for the gold watch

ss- you make a valid point. not that the post counts or admiral status means anything anyway. if it suits you, post a smilley face after every joke posted here, and you'll have 3000 by december.<br /><br />after 500 posts, i had offered every bit of useless advice i could muster, so i'll stick where i am.

SS, Its no big deal. Posting a smiley is an <br />apropriate response to some posts. I'd say some <br />of the writen replies if in bad taste,should make<br />you have to move back two spaces... :rolleyes:

Sloopy's entry to iBoats was quite extraordinairy.<br /><br />Like no one else he did his best to stay outside rules and therefore holds a status outside normal status rules.<br /><br />Apart from that, those approvals doesn't mean a lot.<br /><br />No offence, but.. As you know, it is possible to have high numbers without really adding value to topics.

I am a newbie to this here iboats forum.Am i to be aware that this is a race to aquire the highest number of posts? and is it your concern that maybe somehow this section of the forum is becoming "much ado about nothing"?. Please don't get me wrong,i personally find many of posts to be informative,hilariously funny and some to be imaginative. Well, there are some that i do find to be corny and boring,but ain't self expression something grand?,i'm sure you'll agree. ;) :) :D

Not that it realy matters whether you have the title or not but I think that if all you did was like 1000 posts of ;) :confused: or :mad: I don't think that anyone would promote you. Now if you interspersed a :) or :rolleyes: along with usefull posting I think it's okay. BTW it is not the actual title that counts but the quality of the posts that makes it mean something.
