Everyone here including myself are critical of others, but offer no solutions. If I did this at work, I would be fired. So I ask, what are your solutions to the current problems. I also dare you to ask these same questions from your polititions. My solution to presidential election: Make the presidency one term of 6 years. That way, the president can do what he needs to do and not worry about getting re-elected. Economy: Do nothing, if it aint broke dont fix it. Let it take care of itself. Terrorists: Already taken care of. We kicked *** and took names. All of those terrorists know we wont take it. Immigration: Realisitically, Bushes plan is the best. What are your ideas? Ken

My idea is to vote for whatever candidate has the best looking wife! When you see the candidates doing their candidate thing on TV, try to catch a glimpse of the misses in the background and just imagine her in a thong bikini. Kinda tends to cure any desire to vote for any one candidate in particular. Now, my thoughts on spandex

Ken, Agreed on the economy taking care of itself. I think it could, if the washington boys left it alone.. Most definately need term limits in all political offices, without all the benefits afterwards.. Term over, your cut off, thats it.. No retirement package, none of the goodies... Back to the real world to support yourself.. Their has to be some kind of real campaign finance reform to keep big buisness out of the politicians pockets.. So bad right now, I dunno where to start... The single six year presidency term thing, interesting thought... Problem I see is that you could end up with a lame duck/do nothing president right from the get go... Would have to be some kind of acountability there to make it work... Terrorists... I guess fight the crazy people by being crazy... Be unpredictable, like they are, just a litte more so... Definately use the big guns on em... Immigration.. Not an english speaking citizen, you're out! If you wish to become a citizen, learn the stuff before you come here, your green card will be good for 3 months.. After that 3 months is up, not a citizen, you're out for good!

Excellent! But that would have made Prince Charles our President 15-20 years ago. 1. Illegal Immigration. Enforce existing immigration laws . And by all means secure and protect the borders. It's important to note here that fair immigration laws are already in place. The issue is irresponsibility in our government to fund enforcement of these laws. This same irresponsibility has left this country insecure and over run with illegal immigrants. Since the fall of the Berlin wall, troops are still in Germany that could be used for border control. I'd propose to close all US military bases in Germany and use those resources, equipment and means to seal off our borders. The only amnesty I'd give is a 90 day one to allow illegal aliens the opportunity to leave. It's all a matter of will, priorities and law. Prior and current administrations clearly have failed America here. 2. True and absolute campaign finance reform. No money, gifts or financial considerations of any kind from any source that isn't a registered, legal, American citizen. No PAC, special interest, lobby, corporation, group, can contribute. Any INDIVIDUAL, registered, legal American can contribute as much personal financial considerations as they want. Again, a F grade for our representatives. 3. Taxation. A national sales tax without any loopholes or deductions. For 50 years the cry has been for tax reform. Where has our representation been? 4. Debt. Abolish the Federal Reserve Bank and absolve any and all debts against US, to it. Coin money as per the Constitution and back the currency up with gold. A monumental knife in the citizens back here. Oh, I forgot, the little whine from the sheeple, "It can't be UnConstitutional if we're doing it..." 5. Make it national priority to develop energy independence. Just how much oil you think is left anyway? Do you think there will be more of it in 20 years? And out of that amount, how much of it will be ours? The Moon and Mars will be there in 15-20 years. For now, put all that gray matter at NASA figuring out how to get US back and forth to work cheaply. Cause at this stinking rate, I'm gonna need your kids to make a lot of money to pay for my Social Security benefits! 6.Foreign policy. Mind our own business and true national interests as they apply to the rest of the world. I'd eliminate any thought that this country is the worlds police. We would defend our land and our well defined interests fiercely. From now on, no more regime change. If your repressed and want freedom, spill some blood like our forefathers did, and EARN it! 7. Government by the people. Stop thinking the people who run this government are all that. They are mostly men who have less morals and common sense then you or your neighbor. They are a far cry from the statesmen that made this government. And we are a far cry from the citizens they had in mind for US. 8. Your turn.

A few things to add to Skinnywater's fine list. a. a free oneway ticket outta this country for anyone that doesn't like the new rules. b. only lawyers can be sued for personal injury awards. Really like this one snapperbait:

1. Constitutional amendment: Congress can make no law without repealing one that costs the same, or more. 2. Flat rate income tax. No loopholes for anyone, including corporations. 3. Senators and Congressmen are disqualified from voting on a bill that sends money to their state/district. 4. Binding legal life-contracts available to anyone, that offer all of the legal responsibilities and benefits available to traditional marriages. 5. The President's plan on guest workers, including strict enforcement of that and other immigration laws. 6. Put Congress and other Federal employees on Social Security, Tax all income for SS, include all sources of income in qualification for benefits. There is more, but this is enough for now.

do away with overtime.. allow guest/make leagle for non citizens to work freely an at will.. cut back on silly pollution laws so my bisnesss can make profit.. more tax cuts.. spend more money..whats it for anyway.. adopt a kiss my @** foreign policy.. there's more but that's enuff for now..

With all the above said unless I missed it no one mentioned Line Item Vetos. When an area is devasted from storms or fire or whatever they should not be able to attach admenments or free "Bs" for other congressmans states.

Take care of the needs of this country first. Quit sending funds and weapons to other countries who misppropriate them. Raise minimum wage so those who are on welfare or out of work have an incentive to get back into the workforce.

For the record I do not just Criticize and offer no solutions: I VOTE. Outside that the two nationwide reform's I would most like to see are this. 1) Line item budget re-approval of all expenditures. We could present 20 items a week for vote. There would be three possable votes for each item. A) Yes B) No C) Re-assign to affected state. Let the individual states decide what they want to pay for and tax their constituants accordingly. We could Set up polling places to be accomidate this. The item's for vote could be presented in a factual sumurization published each week and voted on at anytime that week at voters convinience. 2) All bills introduced in Washington must carry no riders attachments etc. That way everything presented must stand on it's own merits. If it does not have the merit to stand on it's own nationally let them adress it at the appropriate level. Sure this would switch a lot fiscal responsability to the individual states but they could model there own state's budget under a simular arrangment. This would bring the rest of the problems in line on there own. Can you imagine how nice our budget would look in a few years. Let the federal goverment deal with national problems.If you can collect 9 million signatures I will run on this platform.

How about a campaign spending cap so someone other than the rich boys can have a stab at president. Require the National Institute of Health to allocate research money in proportion to the risk of the disease. Diabetes kills more people than AIDS and breast cancer combined. Current research allocation per patient is AIDS: $4,439, breast cancer: $290, Diabetes: $41. Disolve non critical government agencies that have not accomplished their goals with time alloted. Instead, we pour more money into these agencies when they don't perform. Abolish the special retirement plan that Congress enjoys. Let's see what they do with SS when it's their money too that they are spending. Implement a flat tax structure for ALL Americans and abolish the IRS.

... Control the brat population! Tax parents with more that two kids.. Tax em' out the wa-zoooooo! Make em' pay! Too many kids that we can't educate properly as it is.. Oh yeah, one more... Put corporal punishment back in school.... Maybe capital punishment too, I dunno...

I have often thought of a flat tax and other simplier tax methods, but the amount of tax you pay will never change no matter what way they collect it. The only way it will go down is if they stop spending, so therefore, there is no need to change it. Bush's immigration plan is basically, the USA relies on this cheap labor too much and we must have it. Therefore, we will legalize all that is currently illegal (but not prosecuted). In other words it will have no effect on anything except we will know when each alien enters and leaves the country. That to me is an improvement in the current system. Ken
