From an article that appeared in the 10 12 03 star tribune. On august 29 a 15 year old hunter has shot a Whitail in monroe county Iowa that is estimated at 322inches nontypical easaly the largest nontypical ever taken by a hunter. No photos have been released as the hunters are negotiating with several outdoor mags. He has been hunted for several years but had escaped up until now. Estimated at 7-8 yrs and 250-300 lbs. His rack has been reportadly insured at $500,000. And as course as we all no an official score cannot be obtained until the official 60 day dry time is up. The hunter was Tony Lovstuen, the weapon was a muzzeloader.

We shall wait and see.

There's a Buck (named Goliath)in outdoor life magazine (Nov 2003) that is still alive and may have a rack that scores over 400 (nontypical) B&C.
At 2 years old its rack scored 230.
The deer was stolen at age two and the rightful owner just got him back at age six.
The rack on this buck is the gnarliest I've ever seen. It's twice as gnarly as the pick above.

I saw that picture of Goliath also. I don't know if he would qualify for B & C or P & Y because he is a "deer farm" raised buck. I'd like to put a 190 class deer down, at least once in my life. Living up here in the northeast it isn't pretty likely though.

Yea, Jay, Goliath came from my front yard - literally! Friends of mine have a deer farm across the street and up the hill from me. They engineered that buck and raised him, then sold him to the farm where we was stolen from. Good to have a lost friend back - mammoth rack, but ugly!
