Power loss under load

I have a 1994 Mariner 115 4cyl. OD Series Serial Number. I have cleaned all carbs and replaced all plugs and wires. Last time I ran it, I put it on plane, 75% top speed approx., and was trimming motor down. Once motor bottomed out against hull, I experienced a great loss of power and motor acted as though I had lost one of the cylinders. Any idea as to what might have caused this and what my fix might be. If additional information is required to furhter assist in the determination of this issue, please advise. Any and all comments/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Nook

Re: Power loss under load

well, once you put the motor all the way down to the hull, the prop sits lower in the water, and that can slow your boat down, and it can also be what pitch prop you have on your motor but a 115 is really strong..... what kind of boat are you pushing?????

Re: Power loss under load

green4themoney, the boat is a 1995 17' 6" Key West Stealth (the flats model). I understand your response, but the problem is definitely more than just the motor bottoming out. It is more like a cylinder is dropping out of operation. I appreciate your response.

Nook
