Power Pack,87 Erude 88 spl

does anyone know which color wire would be hot on this power pack?I've stuck the test light in every wire on both my packs and none of them light it up.
Do i have to be turning the motor over to get power from these thing,or just turn the key on?

You need to use a DVA with a meter to check powerpack readings.
