Carburettor was serviced due to residue fouling - since then starts and idles well but dies when throtte opened. Can get max. rev's by pulling choke out once then full throttle. Doesn't appear to be a fuel line problem, the local dealer doesn't have much of an idea!

Welcome to iboats and that carb ain't clean enough.

There's still a blockage in there somewhere. It's awfully hard to get 100% of the varnish out sometimes. It needs another go at it. Or the idle mixture jet isn't open quite enough. Try opening that 1/4 turn and see if that takes care of it.

service man has found no problems in carby or fuel but there appears to be water in the crankcase return lines to the carby, and also one of the fly wheel magnets has a 5mm chip missing off the end. Could either of these issues explain what appears to behave like a fuel problem?
