Power Steering Pump Mounting?

Does anybody have some pictures that show how their power steering pump is mounted (5.7L with PS Pump high on starboard side)? I have two bracket sets (cast bracket 1988 to 1995 and stamped bracket 1996 to 2002). I want to use the stamped bracket as it looks to be a better bracket. However, the parts diagram for the 1996 5.7L shows the PS Pump with mounting studs. The used pump I have has studs but there seems to be no way to get the pump into the bracket with the studs in place. As a side note, the used pump has a Mercruiser pulley but it looks like and automotive pump (return tube high on the back side. I ordered a new pump with the correct tube and it comes with bolts in the back and not studs. Anyway, looking for pictures.

The pump is a hydraulic pump and can be mounted anywhere you want to place it, so long as its not upside down or side ways

Just trying to figure out the proper mounting into the stock Mercruiser bracket (bolts, studs, spacers, brace bracket??). It is high (above the alternator) on the starboard side with this bracket.

Mine is mounted on the port side above the alternator... is yours v-belt driven or serpentine?

the 96 and later were serpentine

the pump is a saginaw pump. the pumps are all the same bits, there are about 50 different reservoirs.

2X with AD on the port side mounting. I cannot remember ever seeing one on the starboard side. Original Chevy V8s had the pump mounted low on the port side that caused engine alignment problems with the adjustment strut touching the bilge. Mercruiser then provided a relocation kit.

Great, thanks MadProps and Flashback. Those are exactly what I needed. Looks like a combination of bolts and studs and the parts diagram appears to be incorrect. Looks like you have the stamped bracket with the support brace (in the front) that is shown in the parts diagrams as for the cast bracket but not the stamped bracket. My new pump comes in on Monday so will see if it will assemble like your picture. Thanks again for the pics...

My new pump arrived and it came with studs instead of bolts which is the way Mercruiser shows it. The pump went into the bracket with the studs in place so it appears that the used pump with the hydraulic tube up in the middle of the pump was causing it to not go into place. Thanks again for the help and pictures.
